The Pavilion 14 is good at casual gaming (titles such as Dota 2, Dead or Alive) as there were no freezing issues. Another utility feature I loved using was HP QuickDrop, which helped to share files between my iPhone and this laptop wirelessly. Also, the built-in Alexa feature came in handy for fetching information, controlling paired smart devices and playing my playlist (I had to log into my Alexa account). With Intel's latest 11th Gen processors and Iris Xe integrated graphics, it handled my workload including multiple Chrome tabs (approximately 25 across multiple windows), image and video editing, heavy downloads, streaming videos and long hours of video conferencing without any hiccups. The machine scored 3661on PCMark 10, which falls a little short of gaming laptops but is fairly good for this home machine. But where it really shines is the snappy performance. This will install a new kernel (5.6.0-1036-oem) where sound as proper support apparently. Then you can install the linux-oem-20.04 sudo apt install linux-oem-20.04 Software & Updates > "Developer options" tab > check "pre-released updates" box.įrom here you can already do a sudo apt update & apt upgrade I've spent hours trying to fix this.īasically what you got to do is to allow focal-proposed updates first: I've tried a lot of things, disable internal speakers in BIOS and such, still nothing. I made all the different changes in the files /etc/modprobe.d/nf I've tried all the previous answer and it didn't work for my case I have a Dell inspiron 9510 and had ubuntu 20.04 freshly installed. I would get no audio output, except for when I plugged an HDMI in which case I could redirect the sound to the HDMI device.
